A Black Heart
Debra Shepherd / Quint Shepherd Music, BMI

Verse 1:
Before I met Jesus- I had no peace within-
my heart was shattered and blackened
by sin, but the day He came into my life-
a change was made I know. His red blood
took my black heart and washed it white
as snow.

Verse 2:

Sometimes Satan tries to tell me that salvation
is not real- he says that our emotions are just a
worked- up thrill, Oh- but when I think of how
my Savior died and the blood He shed for me.
He gave me life and from the chains of sin I am
set free.

Chorus:

Red blood took a black heart and washed it
white as snow. I had a black heart and that?s
how I know- old Satan was my master and
He would not let go, but I was set free from
that slavery- when I knelt neath Calvary's
flow.

You see old Satan was my master and
He would not let go, but I was set free from
that slavery- when I knelt neath Calvary's
flow.
